Donna Kaiser, PhD, is an art therapist, educator, supervisor, and researcher practicing in Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Kaiser specializes in art therapy with those who are coping with major physical health diagnoses and treatment such as cancer. She received a Master of Science in Art Therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from The College of William and Mary.
Dr. Kaiser has been a Clinical Associate Professor in Art Therapy and Counseling in the Department of Creative Arts Therapies at Drexel University since 2011 and recently stepped down as Director of Art Therapy and Counseling when she moved to Charlottesville. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association. Dr. Kaiser is known for developing The Bird’s Nest Drawing, an art therapy assessment instrument for appraising attachment security and introducing attachment concerns into art therapy services.
